PLEASE NOTE, although we have included information for residential courses on these pages, only NON-RESIDENTIAL courses are currently available although we hope to offer residential courses again in the future. If you decide to opt for a course of more than one day there are a number of guest houses and hotels in the area where you will be made welcome. |
|
Foto-Works courses are for Beginner to Intermediate level enthusiasts who want to explore the exciting world of digital photography and image manipulation with the minimum of jargon - at their own pace - in a friendly, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. |

Ian has Enhanced CRB Status and experience working with Disabled and Handicapped Students. |

We hope that when you have browsed our site and found out more about the courses on offer, you will want to take the next step and contact us to make a booking - either for yourself or as a Gift Voucher for someone else. When you have booked, we’ll contact you to find out about your level of Photographic knowledge and how computer literate you are. After arrival, usually the evening before the course starts for residential students, you’ll be made comfortable in your own cottage annex with kitchen, shower room and toilet, bed and lounge areas with beautiful views across the valley from the large picture window. When you’ve settled in, we hope you’ll enjoy a home cooked meal, perhaps with a glass of wine, in the garden room. This is a time to chat about photography, the kind of images you enjoy taking, the equipment you use and your particular interests. The following days will unfold at your own pace - we are sensitive to the different speeds people learn at, and because Foto-Works courses are one to one or one to two at most, you can go as fast or as slow as you like without feeling pressured. |

We have a temperate climate in West Wales which gives great scope for photography - but if bad weather stops outdoor work we have a range of stock images to manipulate, or you can use some of your own images which you are encouraged to bring along on disk. Occasionally a non-photographic partner wants to come along for a break. This isn’t a problem as long as you are prepared to share the accommodation. There are local walks, cycle trails and beautiful countryside to explore and the Pembrokeshire Coast with its Coastal Path is only a few miles away, so Poppit Sands, Cardigan, Newport, Dinas Head, Fishguard and St David’s are all easily accessible. |

Ian, Thanks again for a knowledge gaining 3-4 days in both Photography and Manipulation. The photography course was a gentle learning curve in the techniques of aperture, exposure and shutter speeds etc, not forgetting the strange positions to get a good composition. Then the manipulation sessions were of immense value in correcting and enhancing my photography attempts. For a beginner of a few months this was an ideal way to progress. I left with a wealth of tips and explanations, all in all a brilliant few days. Thanks also to Alex and yourself for the kind way in which you looked after Sandra and myself on our stay. Your friendliness and attitude was spot on - both looking forward to another visit. Regards, Barrie and Sandra Crawford. |
